彼得把基督稱為「活石」，也稱信徒為「活石」；這不是單純優美的比喻，而是宣告信徒的生命方向必須與基督的道路連結。
Peter calls Christ the “living Stone” and believers “living stones”; this is not merely a beautiful metaphor, but a declaration that believers’ life direction must be joined to Christ’s path.
基督被人拒絕，卻被神揀選並看為寶貴；信徒若親近祂，也可能被世界誤解、排斥，卻同樣在神眼中蒙揀選、被珍視。
Christ was rejected by people, yet chosen and treasured by God; believers who draw near to Him may likewise be misunderstood or rejected by the world, yet are also chosen and precious in God’s sight.[1]
一、基督是被棄絕卻活著的石頭
Christ Is the Rejected Yet Living Stone
「石頭」通常令人想到堅固、穩定、建造的根基；但彼得特別稱耶穌為「活石」，因為祂不是一塊死的建材，而是曾被釘十字架、從死裡復活、如今仍活著並作王的主。
“Stone” normally brings to mind strength, stability, and a foundation for building; but Peter specifically calls Jesus the “living Stone” because He is not a lifeless building material—He was crucified, rose from the dead, and now lives and reigns as Lord.
人拒絕祂，神卻揀選祂。
People rejected Him, but God chose Him.
人看十字架為羞辱、失敗與無價值，神卻藉著基督的受死與復活，使祂成為教會唯一的房角石。
People saw the cross as shame, failure, and worthlessness, but through Christ’s death and resurrection God made Him the only cornerstone of the church.
彼得在6至8節連續引用以賽亞書二十八章16節、詩篇一百一十八篇22節和以賽亞書八章14節，從三段舊約經文說明同一個真理：基督是神所設立、不可取代的房角石；相信祂的人不至羞愧，拒絕祂的人卻因祂跌倒。[2][3][4]
Peter quotes Isaiah 28:16, Psalm 118:22, and Isaiah 8:14 in verses 6–8, using three Old Testament passages to explain one truth: Christ is the irreplaceable cornerstone established by God; those who believe in Him will not be put to shame, while those who reject Him stumble because of Him.[2][3][4]
這提醒我們，人的評價與神的評價常常不同。
This reminds us that human evaluation and God’s evaluation are often different.
世界可能把成功、影響力、財富、外貌、地位和被大多數人認可，當作有價值的證明。
The world may treat success, influence, wealth, appearance, status, and majority approval as proof of value.
但神首先看人是否與基督聯合、是否忠於祂的真理、是否願意走祂所走的道路。
But God first looks at whether a person is united with Christ, faithful to His truth, and willing to walk the road He walked.
二、你們也像活石被建造成屬靈的殿
You Also Are Living Stones Being Built into a Spiritual House
第5節說：「你們作為活石，要被建造成屬靈的殿。」
Verse 5 says, “You yourselves, like living stones, are being built into a spiritual house.”
這說明信徒不是一塊塊孤立的石頭。
This shows that believers are not isolated stones.
一塊石頭若獨自放在地上，不能成為居所；只有被放在正確位置、與其他石頭連結、共同建立在房角石基督之上，才能成為神居住的屬靈殿。
A stone lying alone on the ground cannot become a dwelling place; only when placed in the right position, connected with other stones, and built together upon Christ the cornerstone can it become God’s spiritual house.
因此，信主不只是「我個人與耶穌的關係」，也包括被帶進一個彼此相連、彼此承擔、彼此建造的群體。
Therefore, faith is not merely “my personal relationship with Jesus”; it also means being brought into a community that is connected, bears one another’s burdens, and builds one another up.
彼得把基督與信徒建構成平行關係：基督是活石，信徒也是活石；基督被人拒絕，信徒也可能在世上被排斥；基督被神揀選並尊榮，信徒也在神眼中蒙揀選、被看為尊貴。[1]
Peter builds a parallel relationship between Christ and believers: Christ is the living Stone, and believers are living stones; Christ is rejected by people, and believers may also be rejected in the world; Christ is chosen and honored by God, and believers too are chosen and precious in God’s sight.[1]
這裡有一個重要的更正：像基督，不是追求被人丟棄；而是在我們因忠於基督而被拒絕時，不把人的拒絕誤當作神的拒絕。
Here is an important correction: being like Christ is not seeking rejection from people; rather, when we are rejected because of faithfulness to Christ, we must not mistake human rejection for God’s rejection.
信徒不應故意挑釁、傲慢地傷害別人，然後把後果稱為「為主受苦」。
Believers should not deliberately provoke or arrogantly hurt others, then call the consequences “suffering for the Lord.”
但若我們因持守真理、拒絕不義、愛人卻不妥協良心，而受誤解、失去機會或被視為不合群，這時我們可以記得：基督也走過這條路。
But if we are misunderstood, lose opportunities, or are seen as not fitting in because we uphold truth, refuse injustice, love others without compromising conscience, then we can remember that Christ walked this path too.
三、屬靈的殿與聖潔的祭司
A Spiritual House and a Holy Priesthood
彼得不只說信徒是活石，也說信徒要成為「聖潔的祭司」，藉耶穌基督獻上神所悅納的屬靈祭物。
Peter not only says believers are living stones, but also that they are to become a “holy priesthood,” offering spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.
在舊約裡，祭司的工作是親近神、在神面前服事、為百姓獻祭。
In the Old Testament, priests drew near to God, served before Him, and offered sacrifices for the people.
彼得把這個圖像應用在整個信徒群體：每位屬基督的人都被召親近神，並透過基督獻上生命的祭。
Peter applies this image to the whole believing community: every person who belongs to Christ is called to draw near to God and offer the sacrifice of life through Christ.
今天的「屬靈祭物」不只是唱詩、奉獻或參與崇拜禮儀。
Today’s “spiritual sacrifices” are not merely singing, giving offerings, or attending worship services.
它包括悔改的心、感恩的敬拜、正直的工作、憐憫的行動、真誠的相愛、願意饒恕、守住良心，以及把身體、時間、恩賜和資源獻給神使用。
They include a repentant heart, grateful worship, honest work, acts of mercy, sincere love, willingness to forgive, guarding conscience, and offering one’s body, time, gifts, and resources for God’s use.
這些祭物不是使我們配得神接納的代價。
These sacrifices are not the price that makes us worthy of God’s acceptance.
彼得清楚說，它們是「藉著耶穌基督」才蒙神悅納；基督是房角石，也是我們親近神、敬拜神與服事神的唯一根基。[5][6]
Peter clearly says that these sacrifices are acceptable to God only “through Jesus Christ”; Christ is both the cornerstone and the only foundation by which we draw near, worship, and serve God.[5][6]
四、被人丟棄，還是被神珍貴？
Rejected by People, or Precious to God?
第7節說：「這石頭在你們信的人是珍貴的。」
Verse 7 says, “The honor is for you who believe.”
基督對信的人是珍貴的，不只是因為祂能解決人生問題，更因為祂本身就是救恩、真理、生命與生命最終的中心。
Christ is precious to believers not merely because He solves life’s problems, but because He Himself is salvation, truth, life, and the ultimate center of life.
同時，信徒也要學習以被世人拒絕的主為榮。
At the same time, believers must learn to take pride in the Lord whom the world rejected.
這句話很不容易，因為人天生渴望被接納。
This is not easy, because people naturally long to be accepted.
我們害怕在職場上被看作不合群，害怕親友覺得自己的信仰過時，害怕因堅持誠實、純潔與公義而失去機會，害怕說「我不能這樣做」時被視為麻煩。
We fear being seen as not fitting in at work, fear relatives and friends considering our faith outdated, fear losing opportunities because we uphold honesty, purity, and justice, and fear being viewed as troublesome when we say, “I cannot do this.”
這些恐懼往往就是攔阻我們走窄路的原因。
These fears are often what keep us from walking the narrow path.
但彼得不是說信徒永遠不會感到羞愧或孤單；他說的是，信靠房角石的人最終「必不至於羞愧」。
But Peter is not saying believers will never feel shame or loneliness; he says that those who trust in the cornerstone ultimately “will not be put to shame.”
世人暫時的拒絕，不是神最終的判決。
Temporary rejection by the world is not God’s final verdict.
人的掌聲不等於神的尊榮；人的丟棄也不等於神的遺棄。
Human applause does not equal God’s honor, and human rejection does not equal God’s abandonment.
五、信靠或跌倒：面對基督的分岔路
Trust or Stumble: The Fork in Response to Christ
彼得所引用的三段舊約經文，最後把人帶到一個無法迴避的選擇。
The three Old Testament passages Peter cites finally bring people to an unavoidable choice.
基督是房角石，對信靠祂的人來說，祂是穩固的根基。
Christ is the cornerstone; for those who trust Him, He is a secure foundation.
但對拒絕祂、拒絕順從祂的道的人來說，祂卻成為絆腳的石頭、使人跌倒的磐石。
But for those who reject Him and refuse to obey His word, He becomes a stone of stumbling and a rock of offense.
問題不在於基督是否可靠。
The problem is not whether Christ is reliable.
問題在於人是否願意承認，自己不能以自我為生命的根基，而必須降服於神所設立的房角石。
The problem is whether people are willing to admit that they cannot make the self the foundation of life, but must submit to the cornerstone God has established.
基督令人跌倒，不是因為祂不清楚或不值得信靠，而是因為祂要求人放下自我主權、私慾、偶像與對掌控的執著。
Christ causes people to stumble not because He is unclear or unworthy of trust, but because He requires people to lay down self-rule, desire, idols, and attachment to control.
因此，這段經文也問我們：我有沒有在某些事情上信靠基督，卻在另一些領域仍然把自己當作房角石？
Therefore, this passage asks us: Do I trust Christ in some areas, while still making myself the cornerstone in other areas?

Reflection and Prayer
我是否真正親近那位被人丟棄、卻被神揀選並珍貴的活石基督？
Am I truly drawing near to Christ, the living Stone rejected by people yet chosen and precious to God?
我是否願意讓自己的人生、工作、關係、金錢與決策，都建立在祂這一塊房角石上？
Am I willing to build my life, work, relationships, money, and decisions on Him as the cornerstone?
當我因忠於基督而被誤解、拒絕或看似失去機會時，我是否把人的拒絕當成神的拒絕？
When I am misunderstood, rejected, or seem to lose opportunities because of faithfulness to Christ, do I treat human rejection as God’s rejection?
我最害怕失去的是甚麼——人的認可、工作機會、關係、收入、舒適、安全感，還是自己對生活的掌控？
What do I fear losing most—human approval, work opportunities, relationships, income, comfort, security, or my own control over life?
天父，感謝祢所揀選、所珍貴的房角石耶穌基督；祂雖被人丟棄，卻成為我生命、教會與盼望的穩固根基。
Father, thank You for Jesus Christ, the cornerstone You chose and treasure; though rejected by people, He has become the secure foundation of my life, the church, and my hope.
求祢使我不只在口裡信靠基督，也在每天具體的選擇中親近祂、倚靠祂、把生命建立在祂之上。
Help me not only trust Christ with my words, but draw near to Him, rely on Him, and build my life on Him through daily concrete choices.
當我因跟隨基督而走上窄路、感到孤單或被人拒絕時，求祢使我不以祂為恥，也不以忠於祂的道路為恥。
When following Christ leads me onto a narrow road and I feel lonely or rejected, keep me from being ashamed of Him or of the path of faithfulness to Him.
求祢把我建造成祢屬靈殿中的活石，使我與弟兄姊妹彼此連結、彼此建造，並藉著耶穌基督獻上蒙祢悅納的屬靈祭物。
Build me as a living stone in Your spiritual house, connecting and building me with brothers and sisters, and enabling me through Jesus Christ to offer spiritual sacrifices pleasing to You.
