The Bible is not written as a modern philosophical textbook, yet it offers a complete worldview: where the world comes from, who human beings are, what good and evil mean, why suffering exists, where salvation lies, and where history is heading.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

At the same time, humans are creatures rather than gods: they possess freedom, reason, creativity, and responsibility to steward the world, yet cannot arbitrarily define good and evil, control everything, or evade moral accountability.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Biblical anthropology rejects two extremes: treating persons as valueless material machines, or treating them as beings capable of self-deification and complete self-salvation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Yet the Bible also teaches that human understanding is affected by finitude, sin, desire, and self-deception; therefore, people need God\u2019s more specific revelation, especially to know God through Jesus Christ.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cLove the Lord your God with all your heart\u201d and \u201clove your neighbor as yourself\u201d (Deuteronomy 6:5; Leviticus 19:18) unite worship and ethics: loving God must appear in loving one\u2019s neighbor, pursuing justice, protecting the vulnerable, and living truthfully.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
